The building forms rise through a sequence of sloped and staggered levels, creating varying heights across the complex. This composition is inspired by the posture of the Whirling Dervish, where one hand is raised toward the heavens while the other is directed toward the earth. The resulting stepped silhouette gives the project a distinctive identity while allowing terraces, roof spaces, and different levels of outdoor use to become an integral part of the architecture.
Beyond the residential program, Sema Residences was planned as a complete urban living environment. The ground floor is dedicated to commercial and retail functions, activating the main road frontage and providing everyday services for residents and the surrounding neighborhood. Between the residential blocks, landscaped courtyards incorporate pedestrian routes, playgrounds, pergolas, shaded seating areas, water features, and communal gathering spaces. At first-floor roof level, a dedicated children’s playground and kindergarten area creates a protected family-oriented environment separated from vehicular traffic.
The project combines residential living, commerce, landscape, recreation, and community functions within a single integrated masterplan. Its architectural identity is rooted in the cultural context of Konya while expressing that heritage through a contemporary residential language.
